Dear Friends,

It's hard to overestimate the importance of this time in our history. I can't imagine you need me to remind you to vote on Nov. 4 -- I would assume you're as excited as I am to participate in this extraordinary election.

As you might already know, I've been public in my support of Barack Obama. I think he expresses a worldview that is transformational and boldly positive; I passionately hope he wins. At the same time, my greater passion is for democracy itself. Whether you are supporting Obama or McCain or anyone else, I hope you'll join all of us who will be casting our votes for the next President of the United States.

Also, of course, we are experiencing very challenging economic times. Let's join in prayer that both the election and the economy be blessed and protected and lifted up in light. There is no order of difficulty in miracles; there is no darkness that universal light cannot cast out.

Let's remember that external powers are as nothing compared to the power in our hearts. Every day, I hope you will join with me for a minimum of five minutes of meditation and prayerfulness, that a great wave of love will rise up and move through us, blessing the world and all living things. To those of us with spiritual conviction, such concepts are not mere metaphor or symbol. Quite to the contrary, they are the universal forces that move all things. In placing our economy, our democracy, our world -- indeed, our lives -- in the hands of God, we are asking that all thoughts be lifted to divine right order.

Miracle Worker's Training

I'll be doing an intensive workshop on A Course in Miracles at Unity Village in Missouri in February 2009. None of us want to think that animals unnecessarily suffer, yet they often do. Proposition 2 goes far toward preventing that suffering on California's factory farms, and could greatly affect how animals are treated elsewhere in the future. Please support the Proposition vigorously, and tell your firiends about it as well.
